Luke and Bethanne Patrick met at the Salem County 9-1-1 center, so after they got married and decided to open a cafe, what else would they call it but the EMS Café?
EMS Café began as Pattyscakes Concessions LLC as a mobile food trailer in 2011. “I was on Craig’s List looking for a water heater, and I saw a 6-by-12 food trailer on there,” Luke said. “I thought, ‘That would be fun.’ “
And so the spontaneous food trailer purchase turned into Pattyscakes Concessions and began traveling the area providing fun fried foods like blooming onions, funnel cakes, and other favorite festival foods. They’ve served happy customers at the Salem County Fair, Pennsville Septemberfest, Dover Days in Delaware, Woodstown Fall Festival, and many more places. We are happy to have expanded to a permanent location in Quinton, NJ.
Luke and Bethanne both grew up in Salem County and Emergency Mangement Services have always played a big part of their lives; from working at the Salem County 9-1-1 Center, Pennsville EMS, and volunteering with Elmer and Mannington Ambulances. They decided to name this new location something that represents them. EMS Café has a different acronym. Early Morning Start, after all, is the place where you want to get your day started.
